How to Make Money from Blogs

It’s easy to make money from blogs. There are all kinds of programs, affiliations available to make money from blogs.

What is a blog?

Blog is a personal space, rather a personal diary, with the difference that it is not a closed diary but one that is open to anyone to walk in and read and leave a comment. Some blogs are personal some are professional but most of them have a theme on which the contents are based.

Types of blogs

Comment blogs are the ones that offer comment on events in the writer’s life. It takes a subject or incident and makes a comment which the reader may be interested in. Comment blogs often substitute for newspaper editorials. Needless to say they are a combination of news and opinions. Blogs are tools in the hands of writers to keep in touch with each other and also to inform the world about events in the writer’s life. Recently, there have been instances of bloggers updating the world about events in countries that have undergone political change, when no other traditional media was allowed to cover the events.

The other type of blog is filter blog. Filter blogs are similar to comment blogs but point to other locations within the internet for articles and have minimum of content, and more of links. Owners of such blogs can be requested for links to sites, for a fee, of course.

You can opt for any of these types to make money through blogging. Most blogs such as blogger.com and wordpress.com are free to subscribers and you can easily create a blog in a few steps and earn good money.

Creating a Blog

Blogs are easy to create on Blogger.com and wordpress.com. It only takes a few clicks to create a blog. Have a name that is appropriate to the theme of your blog so that they will show up in search engine results and it can also impact your ranking on search engines. For example if your blog is about mobile blogging have a name such as mobile-blogging.blogspot.com. Do not combine the two words, i.e., don’t create a blog with the name as mobileblogging.blogspot.com. It’s a better strategy to use the former to let search engines find your blog.

Promoting Your Blog

First of all submit your blog to the major search engines before you can earn money from blogging. Slowly, your traffic will build and you can paste a counter to check the progress of visitors to your blog. Also send a link to your friends and extended contact lists to visit your blog and link to you. When the number of links of your blog increases so will your popularity and your rating with the search engines. Keep promoting your blog without let up.

Apply to Affiliate Programs

When there is a constant flow of visitors to your blog everyday you can start the process of earning money from your blog. First apply to affiliation programs which pay money to feature their ads on your blog. After registering with them copy and paste their code in the appropriate sections in your blog. Affiliate programs pay per click or pay if a sale is made through a click from your blog. So choose your affiliate program wisely.

Register with Google Adsense

Google runs their advertising program on websites and blogs which is called Google Adsense. When you register with Adsense, Google supplies you with the code that you can copy and paste on your blog. Once you do this you can track your blog’s performance by registering on Google’s analytical tool – Google Analytics. This free analytical tool will analyze the number of visitors to your site each and also give you the demographic data of the visitors.

Do not give up. As the popularity of your blog grows, both traffic as well as ranking on search engines can only become better. So the more popular your blog the more will be your revenue from Affiliate programs and Adsense.

Most importantly, if you are seeking to make money from blogging, spread your interests across multiple revenue streams so as not to put all your eggs in one basket.

Some Good Money Making Affiliate Sites:

Google Adsense

As mentioned above, Adsense is Google’s advertising program and when featured on your blog can bring you revenue when a visitor clicks on the ad links. If you place the adsense code strategically on your blog then you can get more clicks. It should be right at the top of the blog, and preferably at the top right hand side. Also you can choose an ad size that is prominent enough to display it prominently on your blog.

www.amazon.com

Amazon has an affiliate program that includes products like books, CDs, office products, household products, etc. It also has a contextual advertising program in which you have to place a code in your page and all words on your page that has association with Amazon products will turn into a link. This has more chances of making money as the reader is directly reading content relating to the advertisement, and therefore has a greater chance of clicking on the ad.

www.register.com

Register.com is a website that is in the domain booking and related services realm. It has an affiliate program by which their ads can be featured on blogs and the blogger can earn referral income. For more details read the affiliate page on the website.

www.g2bux.com

Though G2bux doesn’t have an affiliation program it rewards members with G2points which can be converted into cash when it reaches a certain limit. It is a good site to make money from and offers a number of modules through members can earn money. Registration is free and is open to all.

www.ebay.com

Ebay.com also has an affiliate program in which bloggers can become a member. Ebay is a popular site for buying and selling used and new products and your visitors would certainly be interested in the products for sale on the site. Visit ebay.com for their affiliation program and sign up if you think it will work for you.

What are Onpage and Offpage Optimization?

SEO Techniques basically can be divided into two:

1. Onpage optimization

2. Offpage optimization

Onpage optimization:

On page optimization refers to writing original content on the websites that have keywords in the correct density, proximity and frequency so that the relevant pages are crawled by search engines, and ranked high. The keywords and keyword phrases must be correctly chosen and scattered within the text and should not be concentrated in the first few lines.

It also deals with optimizing each page with Meta tags such as title, description and keywords. Onpage optimization is not a one off thing. Keywords should be rotated on the page to find which one works best for the page and after the best results are obtained the SEO can relax a bit. But still research about keywords for the particular page should go on and shouldn’t cease.

Remember, google and search engines do not rank entire sites it ranks each page of the site individually, so if you have optimized each and every page in your site, you have nothing to worry. However, if you have optimized only your home page you are in trouble.

Offpage optimization:

Offpage optimization consists of creating backlinks on popular blogs and websites. However, Google now recognizes only one way links. That means if you have a friend and tell him, “Link to me and I will link to you,” it wouldn’t work with Google. This is a reciprocal link and Google knows what happened between you and your friend.

On the other hand if someone comes to your site and says, “Wow this is a nice site and I should write about it,” and gives you a link on his blog or site, then it is very much valid with Google as a back link. It is just like a friend recommending you for a job. If the friend says, “I will recommend you if you pay me” then it shows that there is a motive behind the recommendation.

Backlinks can also be obtained by participating in discussion boards, posting relevant comments on blogs. However backlinks should be create in sites or blogs with the same theme as your site. But care must be taken not to post 20 or 30 postings on blogs or discussion boards a day. That would send the wrong signals to search engines as it would consider this as SPAM. SPAMMING is frowned upon by google and other search engines, because it floods the net with unwanted pages and results and makes it difficult for searchers to find what they are looking for. Back links if created should be done with great caution and not more than one or two links should be created in a day.

Another way of obtaining backlinks is by submitting press releases to press release websites and submitting articles to article websites. There are many press release and article sites on the web. Some of them publish articles/press release for free and some charge a fee.

The best optimized sites are a combination of good Onpage Optimization and Offpage Optimization.

G2BUX OFFERS UNIQUE WAYS OF MAKING MONEY

Of the countless money making websites on the Internet, G2bux.com is a site worth checking out because it offers a wide range of modules to make money. The basic concept of G2bux is to monetize the information that people give away for free to many dot com corporations who makes money but does not involve the contributors – the people. The main idea behind the Los Altos-based social networking and money making website (G2bux.com) is: why not let users convert the information they give away free to make money for themselves?

To this effect G2bux has set up several modules such as Reviews, Answers, Business Cards, Predictions, Blogs, News Blogs, Groups, Petitions, Think Tank, Job Search, Personals, Paid Emails, etc. Users earn points which can be converted to real money by entering information into any of these modules.

Users can log in on G2bux every day, write a few reviews, post a few blogs, add a few business cards, predict on upcoming issues/events, add some think tank articles and keep accumulating G2points to their account, which can be converted to cash when it reaches the 2000 mark, i.e., $ 100. It is an ideal source of income for those who would like to work from home and earn a steady income. Many users are making money on G2bux.com and they include war veterans, housewives and students. There is no pre-requisite qualification to join.

What’s so Special about G2bux?

All these modules can be accessed with a single username and password. That gives users of G2bux the unique facility of multi-tasking in the various modules without having to exit and log in again into another website.

The G2bux concept of making money online

Besides the benefits mentioned above, users get a free Million Dollar Page on signing up. They also get 100 G2points on registering, which is equivalent to $ 5.

Alex Tew set up a Million Dollar Page (MDP) to put him through college. But first, he had to invest a lot of money into programming, promotions, and, well, he had a bit of programming knowledge to start with. He made a million dollars online! But what if the user is a complete blank in programming? When it comes to using the Internet, yes, the ordinary net surfer can create an email account, but he/she doesn't have the knowledge and resources to put up a Million Dollar Site.

As a user of G2bux.com one doesn’t need programming knowledge. G2bux gives users a free Million Dollar Page! Yes, it does all the programming interfaces, designing and functionalities involved and give its users their own Million Dollar Page.

All the user has to do is to popularize their Million Dollar Page among his/her friends and friends of friends and keep writing review of products and services. Sooner or later advertisers who are on the look out for influential profiles on G2bux will discover the user and advertise on their Million Dollar Pages. The revenue earned by the site is shared with users!

G2bux has several modules where a user can enter information and earn points called G2point. These G2points can then be converted into cash when it reaches the threshold of 2000 G2points.

The following are the various modules of G2bux through which a member can earn G2points and money:

Firstly, you can post in the various modules (such as product reviews, service reviews, predictions, answers, blogs, news blogs, recipes, business cards, etc.) and G2points will be added to your account. Each g2point is equal to 5 cents. When your g2points reach the 2000 mark (i.e. 10,000 cents) you can convert it into cash that is $ 100.

Secondly, when you become a member of g2bux you are given your own Million Dollar Page. You must have heard about Alex Tew and his Million Dollar Page. Well, to put it simply, what Alex created with a lot of effort and programming is yours for free! All you have to do is promote your million dollar page by writing reviews about your local grocer, your television brand, your mp3 player brand, your camera, your ipod, etc. and build up your popularity on g2bux so that manufacturers of these brands would want to advertise on your million dollar page.

Thirdly, if you are looking for a job, you can upload your resume on g2bux and when an employer is interested and employs you he/she pays g2bux a recruitment commission. G2bux pays you half of it makes when you complete three months of employment at your new employer.

Use G2bux’s Make Money page the Why G2bux Page and you will find a lot of information on how you can monetize your information using the website.

G2bux.com has grown and with it this idea of a blog was born. Use it to discuss, brainstorm, suggest, innovate, and even criticize.
