How to Make Money from Blogs
What is a blog?
Types of blogs
Comment blogs are the ones that offer comment on events in the writer’s life. It takes a subject or incident and makes a comment which the reader may be interested in. Comment blogs often substitute for newspaper editorials. Needless to say they are a combination of news and opinions. Blogs are tools in the hands of writers to keep in touch with each other and also to inform the world about events in the writer’s life. Recently, there have been instances of bloggers updating the world about events in countries that have undergone political change, when no other traditional media was allowed to cover the events.
The other type of blog is filter blog. Filter blogs are similar to comment blogs but point to other locations within the internet for articles and have minimum of content, and more of links. Owners of such blogs can be requested for links to sites, for a fee, of course.
You can opt for any of these types to make money through blogging. Most blogs such as blogger.com and wordpress.com are free to subscribers and you can easily create a blog in a few steps and earn good money.
Creating a Blog
Blogs are easy to create on Blogger.com and wordpress.com. It only takes a few clicks to create a blog. Have a name that is appropriate to the theme of your blog so that they will show up in search engine results and it can also impact your ranking on search engines. For example if your blog is about mobile blogging have a name such as mobile-blogging.blogspot.com. Do not combine the two words, i.e., don’t create a blog with the name as mobileblogging.blogspot.com. It’s a better strategy to use the former to let search engines find your blog.
Promoting Your Blog
First of all submit your blog to the major search engines before you can earn money from blogging. Slowly, your traffic will build and you can paste a counter to check the progress of visitors to your blog. Also send a link to your friends and extended contact lists to visit your blog and link to you. When the number of links of your blog increases so will your popularity and your rating with the search engines. Keep promoting your blog without let up.
Apply to Affiliate Programs
When there is a constant flow of visitors to your blog everyday you can start the process of earning money from your blog. First apply to affiliation programs which pay money to feature their ads on your blog. After registering with them copy and paste their code in the appropriate sections in your blog. Affiliate programs pay per click or pay if a sale is made through a click from your blog. So choose your affiliate program wisely.
Register with Google Adsense
Google runs their advertising program on websites and blogs which is called Google Adsense. When you register with Adsense, Google supplies you with the code that you can copy and paste on your blog. Once you do this you can track your blog’s performance by registering on Google’s analytical tool – Google Analytics. This free analytical tool will analyze the number of visitors to your site each and also give you the demographic data of the visitors.
Do not give up. As the popularity of your blog grows, both traffic as well as ranking on search engines can only become better. So the more popular your blog the more will be your revenue from Affiliate programs and Adsense.
Most importantly, if you are seeking to make money from blogging, spread your interests across multiple revenue streams so as not to put all your eggs in one basket.
Some Good Money Making Affiliate Sites:
Google Adsense
As mentioned above, Adsense is Google’s advertising program and when featured on your blog can bring you revenue when a visitor clicks on the ad links. If you place the adsense code strategically on your blog then you can get more clicks. It should be right at the top of the blog, and preferably at the top right hand side. Also you can choose an ad size that is prominent enough to display it prominently on your blog.
Amazon has an affiliate program that includes products like books, CDs, office products, household products, etc. It also has a contextual advertising program in which you have to place a code in your page and all words on your page that has association with Amazon products will turn into a link. This has more chances of making money as the reader is directly reading content relating to the advertisement, and therefore has a greater chance of clicking on the ad.
Register.com is a website that is in the domain booking and related services realm. It has an affiliate program by which their ads can be featured on blogs and the blogger can earn referral income. For more details read the affiliate page on the website.
Though G2bux doesn’t have an affiliation program it rewards members with G2points which can be converted into cash when it reaches a certain limit. It is a good site to make money from and offers a number of modules through members can earn money. Registration is free and is open to all.
Ebay.com also has an affiliate program in which bloggers can become a member. Ebay is a popular site for buying and selling used and new products and your visitors would certainly be interested in the products for sale on the site. Visit ebay.com for their affiliation program and sign up if you think it will work for you.

What are Onpage and Offpage Optimization?
1. Onpage optimization
2. Offpage optimization
Onpage optimization:
On page optimization refers to writing original content on the websites that have keywords in the correct density, proximity and frequency so that the relevant pages are crawled by search engines, and ranked high. The keywords and keyword phrases must be correctly chosen and scattered within the text and should not be concentrated in the first few lines.
It also deals with optimizing each page with
Remember, google and search engines do not rank entire sites it ranks each page of the site individually, so if you have optimized each and every page in your site, you have nothing to worry. However, if you have optimized only your home page you are in trouble.
Offpage optimization:
Offpage optimization consists of creating backlinks on popular blogs and websites. However, Google now recognizes only one way links. That means if you have a friend and tell him, “Link to me and I will link to you,” it wouldn’t work with Google. This is a reciprocal link and Google knows what happened between you and your friend.
On the other hand if someone comes to your site and says, “Wow this is a nice site and I should write about it,” and gives you a link on his blog or site, then it is very much valid with Google as a back link. It is just like a friend recommending you for a job. If the friend says, “I will recommend you if you pay me” then it shows that there is a motive behind the recommendation.
Backlinks can also be obtained by participating in discussion boards, posting relevant comments on blogs. However backlinks should be create in sites or blogs with the same theme as your site. But care must be taken not to post 20 or 30 postings on blogs or discussion boards a day. That would send the wrong signals to search engines as it would consider this as SPAM. SPAMMING is frowned upon by google and other search engines, because it floods the net with unwanted pages and results and makes it difficult for searchers to find what they are looking for. Back links if created should be done with great caution and not more than one or two links should be created in a day.
Another way of obtaining backlinks is by submitting press releases to press release websites and submitting articles to article websites. There are many press release and article sites on the web. Some of them publish articles/press release for free and some charge a fee.
The best optimized sites are a combination of good Onpage Optimization and Offpage Optimization.

Find Your Soulmate through Personals
Studies have found that most people participate in interactive forums online to find friends, dating companions, and even life partners. The internet has spawned its own die-hard fans in chat forums, message boards and dating sites.
Dating sites are the preferred medium to make friends with the opposite sex online. It consists of a profile page on which the user can upload a photo and write a few lines about him/her. However, user has to be careful to write true facts and upload real pictures. This is because most people who upload pictures of movie stars and write glowingly about their own talents and bodies are soon found out.
The following are some of the leading personals websites:

Need an Answer to a Vexing Question?
Many leading online portals have an Answers section where users can get as well as provide answers to seemingly complex procedural questions. Apparently insurmountably problems such as filing of income tax returns, getting a passport, applying for a visa, etc., are simpler when a person who has gone through the routine is willing to help.
Following are some of the websites that provide answers to difficult questions that users may have:
Answers.com is a free answers web portal offering instant information on over 4 million topics. Though users can’t ask questions on this site, it delivers useful answers in within seconds. Users can look up any word or phrase for the best definition or explanation on the Web. It gives complete information that a user is looking for. Answers.com also has an in-house editorial team, and collaborates with community-contributed articles from Wikipedia to provide answers to user-generated questions. Because it compiles and unifies multiple sources for each topic on to a single page, users save time and get the information they need quickly.
The Answers interface of Google is no longer active. However, it still maintains the answers it has already uploaded. Google Answers has a panel of experts who answer questions put by users. However, users can no longer ask questions as this functionality has been discontinued.
Yahoo answers have the policy of ask, answer and discover. Users can ask questions and anyone can answer. Questions run a wide gamut such as, “I have forgotten my password on this Compaq Desktop PC and I cannot do a thing!” to “How does astrology (horoscope) work?” Points are awarded to each answer and if the answer is judged as the best answer, the percentage of such answers is recorded on the member’s profile page.
LinkedIn is a network of more than 12 million experienced professionals from around the world, representing 150 industries. It also has an answers section where a user can ask questions and receive answers. Since LinkedIn consists mostly of professionals one can expect the quality of answers also to be of a certain level of professionalism. Also users can meet old colleagues and pick up new contacts and potential clients on linkedin.com.
G2bux.com’s answers module is different from many of the above mentioned answer websites. On G2bux, users will find motivated people who can offer accurate answers. Besides G2bux answers earn points that can be converted into cash. Also if it is a difficult or a question that needs some research, the asker can put a value on the answer and reward the answer he/she likes. User can choose the best answer depending on his/her own parameters. If none of the answers are satisfactory, a full refund can be requested from g2bux.com.
All these sites offer answers to some of the most difficult question users may have. Therefore if one site is not able to give an answer, try another one.
